ATLANTA, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aaron Rents, Inc. (NYSE: RNT),
the nation's leader in the rental, sales and lease ownership, and specialty
retailing of residential and office furniture, consumer electronics and home
appliances and accessories, today announced that Bert L. Hanson has been
promoted to Vice President, Mid-American Operations, Aaron's Sales & Lease
Ownership Division. In this newly created position Mr. Hanson will be
responsible for overseeing the operations of over 75 stores in ten states in
the Central United States.

position, bringing to four our number of regional vice presidents across the

Mr. Hanson joined Aaron's Sales & Lease Ownership in 1996 as a Store
Manager. He was promoted to District Manager in 1997 over the Fort Worth area
and Regional Manager over the Division's South Central Region in 1998. He was
Regional Manager of the year in 2000. Bert attended Texas Tech University and
the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is
married with four children and resides in the Dallas, Texas area.
