ATLANTA, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Aaron Rents, Inc. (NYSE: RNT), today announced that James L. Cates, Vice President, Risk Management, has been elected Corporate Secretary of the Company. He will also continue his duties as Vice President, Risk Management.
Mr. Cates joined Aaron Rents in 1990 as Director of Risk Management and was promoted to Vice President in 1994.
Prior to Aaron Rents, he was the Director of Industrial Relations from 1985 until 1990 for W.R. Bean & Son, in Atlanta. From 1975 until 1985 he was employed with Atlanta-based Munford,, Inc., beginning in the store management-training program and advancing through the company to the position of Personnel Director.
Mr. Cates received his undergraduate degree from State University College at Buffalo in New York and his J.D. degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Atlanta. He resides with his wife, Mary Ellen in Avondale Estates, Georgia.
