Steven A. Michaels
Steve Michaels was named Chief Financial Officer and President of Strategic Operations of Aaron’s, Inc. (NYSE: AAN), a leading omnichannel provider of lease-purchase solutions, in February of 2016. In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, Steve has oversight for several key business functions including analytics, business development and manufacturing.
Steve previously served as President from April 2014 until February 2016, and in that role successfully developed and implemented strategies to strengthen the Company’s core business and was responsible for launching the Aaron’s e commerce business. Prior to being named President, Steve served as Vice President Strategic Planning & Business Development from 2013 until April 2014, and was instrumental in the planning, execution and integration of the Progressive acquisition in 2014. He also served as Vice President, Finance from 2012 until April 2014 and Vice President, Finance, Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership Division from 2008 until 2011.
Steve joined Aaron’s in 1995 and has held various roles within the organization, starting in audit and progressing through the franchise and finance departments. He has served in several senior financial roles at Aaron’s, both at the parent company level and within the sales and lease ownership and franchise businesses, where his responsibilities have included maintaining banking relationships and executing equity and debt offerings.
Steve has a BS degree in Finance from the University of Florida and an MBA from Georgia State University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
